The Qur’an Course Curriculum
Edep Academy develops its Qur’an curriculum in collaboration with homeschool Qur’an teachers across America and uses the specially prepared Qur’an Learning Textbook. The program is designed to help students master the recitation and memorization of the Qur’an. It covers Tajweed, Makharij (points of articulation), Sifat (characteristics of letters), Hifdh (memorization), Recitation, and basic understanding of the interpretation of memorized Surahs.
The curriculum emphasizes daily recitation practice, applying the Tajweed and Makharij rules taught in class, along with daily memorization sessions that are listened to and corrected by an instructor. This ensures that every student memorizes according to Qiraat-i Asim and Riwaya Hafs, preserving accuracy and authenticity.
Curriculum Goals

- Apply and differentiate the Sifat (attributes) of the letters.
- Recite the Qur’an according to Qiraat-i Asim and Riwaya Hafs Tajweed rules.
- Identify Tajweed rules and their causes with their original Arabic terms.
- Learn key Qur’anic terms such as Makki, Madani, Surah, Juz, Hizb, Waqf, Wasl, Sajdah Ayah, Qasr, Madd, etc.
- Learn to call the Adhan and lead the prayer.
Memorization Goals
- Short Salah prayers (Subhanaka, Tahiyyat, etc.).

- Additional prayers such as Salat al-Tunjina, Meal Prayer, Khutbah Prayer, Funeral Prayer and others.

Certification
At the completion of the program, students will be awarded Qur’an Certificates according to their level of achievement. These certificates recognize their mastery of Tajweed, memorization, and recitation, and qualify them to teach the Qur’an and make them eligible to lead the prayers.
At Edep Academy, our mission is to help every student learn the Qur’an well and be able to share its teachings with others.
